Finding the best online deals can be incredibly hard in today’s world, with so many e-commerce platforms and individual brand websites. When you factor in multiple bank offers, UPI deals, and cash-back discounts, it’s nearly impossible to find a deal that saves you the most money on a purchase. We’ve all been there, and we frequently purchase products online without knowing if we’re getting the best deal.
Prizwiz, a Bengaluru-based startup, hopes to solve the mystery with its smart shopping app, which it claims is the first of its kind. The application, which is currently restricted to consumer technology products, aggregates all card-related offers from across stores and promises to provide a clear recommendation of the best store + card combination. The goal is simple: to help buyers maximize their savings on online purchases.
The concept piqued our interest, so we at Techarc decided to give Prizwiz a thorough review to see how it works and whether the deals save you any money. Here’s what we discovered.
What is Prizwiz?
As previously stated, Prizwiz wishes to simplify your e-commerce experience by providing the best possible deals, thereby saving you time and money. Prizwiz compares prices across multiple e-commerce platforms and analyses various credit card offers to present the best deals. Because the prices generated are unique to each user, the start-up prefers to refer to it as ‘Your Real Price’ (YRP) rather than MRP. These personalized prizes are presented based on the bank cards you own.
If you do not have a card, the app will display the best offer currently available on the e-commerce stores with a mention of card offers.
Prizwiz App User-Experience
The free-to-use mobile app is straightforward and simple to use. The home screen appears, with a search bar at the top, product categories and trending products in the center, and five menu sections at the bottom: home, favorite, products, cards, and your profile. A tap on the ‘Products’ section brings up a dedicated page with the three product categories that are supported. You can open the drop-down list of supported brands by tapping on the bottom-facing arrow.
The ‘My Prizwiz’ section stores your information, displays prize alerts, Priz points, and notifications, and includes app-specific features like settings and a feedback section. You can also win cash prizes by sharing your unique user code with your contacts. Because the app is designed to provide personalized deals, you must add your debit/credit card to take advantage of the best deals your bank has to offer on specific products and categories. More on user data security later in the story.
Finally, Prizwiz has a rewards program. Because the specific store commissions Prizwiz for purchases, the app gives you some reward points if you buy the app’s suggested offers. That is how Prizwiz makes money to stay in business, and the reward program encourages more people to use the app.
Prizwiz Product Categories & Brands Supported
Currently, Prizwiz supports just three product categories- Mobile (Smartphones), Laptops, and TVs and seems to have product listings from most well-known brands.
If you’re interested in a product or products but believe you’ll be able to get a better deal later, save them in the ‘Favourites’ tab and keep an eye out for upcoming price drops and deals.
I wish the Prizwiz could sync with my Amazon and Flipkart apps, display my purchase history and favorite products, and recommend items for a more complete e-commerce experience.
Prizwiz App Deals, Are There Any Good Deals?
Prizwiz displays the product’s base price as well as any bundled offers. For example, the Redmi Note 11 Pro (8GB+128GB) has a base price of Rs. 19,999, which is consistent across e-commerce platforms and some retail stores such as Reliance Digital and Croma. After successfully identifying our ICICI bank card offer, Prizwiz displayed the discounted price, bringing the price down to Rs. 18,999. Furthermore, the app offered Rs. 50 as a reward for purchases made through the app.
The app’s algorithm works well and provides you with the best deals and discounts available across all platforms. However, there is a catch. Some local shops and stores may even offer a lower price or include a free accessory, providing a better overall value than even the best e-commerce portals in the country. Prizwiz currently does not include such local shops near your Pin code. Such pan India approach is not easy to crack for a start-up and can only happen with time and a profitable business.
Data Privacy and Security
Prizwiz, for example, requires users’ bank debit/credit card information to serve personalized deals and offers. Some people are hesitant to share such sensitive information with a new app or a start-up. Prizwiz mentions that the app does not store users’ sensitive information to ensure data security.
To identify the bank and card type, it only collects the first six digits of the cards. It does not save the remaining ten digits, which are usually user-specific information. Furthermore, after successfully identifying the card type, the app deletes the data from its servers. The app algorithm then analyses the card type information (stored in the user’s profile) to present the best deals and offers that their respective bank is currently offering.
What seems Missing?
Techarc Verdict
Prizwiz’s approach to simplify the e-commerce experience impressed us. The start-up has carefully cracked the code of providing a one-stop platform for deals and offers to millions of online shoppers. When it comes to product listings and categories, the mobile application is still in its early stages; however, it has the potential to grow into something that can provide a comprehensive online purchasing experience.
Prizwiz should begin by adding more product categories, updating product listings, improving cross-app synergy, and partnering with local retailers to broaden its reach in the country.
The Prizwiz app is free on both iOS and Android, but there is no web version for PC. There is currently no subscription model, and any user can take advantage of personalized deals to save money.
