Sony India has unveiled two new 4K Smart TVs that run on the Google TV operating system. The new 4K Ultra HD LED TVs are part of Sony’s new Bravia X70L television series, which appears to have been launched to compete with OnePlus and Xiaomi’s premium Smart TVs in India. We say this because Sony has priced these new 4K Ultra HD LED Smart TVs very competitively for the features they offer.
The new Bravia X70L line-up includes two screen sizes (50″ and 43″), both with 4K resolution panels and X-Reality PRO, Motionflow XR, and Live Color technologies. Both models include Sony’s X1 Picture processor, which employs advanced algorithms to reduce noise and enhance details. Using a proprietary 4K database, the Smart TVs are capable of upscaling images shot in 2K and even Full HD to 4K resolution.
The new Bravia X70L Smart TVs have open baffle-down firing twin speakers that deliver 20-Watt Dolby Audio sound. The speakers are aided by clear phase technology, which as per Sony uses a powerful computer model to analyze and compensate for inaccuracies in speaker response.
The audio technology is said to take more precise samples of the speaker frequency and uses the data to cancel out any peaks or dips in the speaker’s natural response, resulting in pure, natural audio with smooth, even reproduction of all frequencies.
Although the 20-Watt sound output appears adequate for TVs with 43″ and 50″ screen sizes, some Chinese OEMs are now offering 30-Watt sound systems even with their smaller TV units. However, because it is Sony, the audio tuning will most likely provide a better overall experience than the competition. Sony claims that both models will provide consumers with best-in-class entertainment and a true-to-life viewing experience.
The new Bravia X70L series TVs are powered by the Google TV operating system, which has recently gained popularity in the smart TV market. Google TV is a more refined version of the traditional Android TV OS, allowing for better content recommendations and a more personalized TV viewing experience.
The new Bravia X70L TV series also supports Apple Home Kit and AirPlay, which allow Apple devices such as iPads and iPhones to be seamlessly integrated with the TV for easy content streaming.
