VU TV’s most ambitious launch in India to date promises to revolutionize home entertainment by bringing the cinematic experience right to your living room. The VU 98 Masterpiece TV boasts an impressive 98″ QLED panel featuring a smooth 120Hz refresh rate and an astounding peak brightness of 1000 nits. Notably, VU emphasizes that the TV eliminates the need for a dark room setup, thanks to its 100% anti-glare screen technology.
This means you should be able to enjoy crystal-clear visuals even in brightly illuminated, sunlit rooms, or spaces with spotlighting. Now, let’s delve into the intricate details of this top-of-the-line home entertainment hub.
VY 98 Masterpiece TV Key Specifications and Features
Let’s delve into the design aspect of the VU 98 Masterpiece TV. The television’s structure is said to be constructed using 3000 Tensile Aerospace-grade aluminum, drawing inspiration from the sleek design of private jets. This choice of material not only adds strength but also enhances the aesthetics of the TV. Users can opt to wall-mount the gigantic panel or use a table mount without any concerns about stability issues, making it a convenient and secure viewing experience.
The 98” QLED panel supports full array local dimming, and 100% color volume, and also has MEMC for smoother frame rates.
Moving on, the giant QLED panel houses a 204Watt DJ Subwoofer, which should complement the picture quality. The Smart TV supports Dolby Atmos and Dolby Digital Plus to deliver an immersive audio experience while streaming content on OTT platforms.
In case you find the sound lacking, there’s an option to enhance your audio experience by connecting a home theatre system through Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity.
Moreover, for wired audio, the Smart TV supports EARC, ARC, and SPDIF. For hardware ports and inputs, the Smart TV gets 2x HDMI ports- USB 3.0x 1 and USB 2.0x 1, 4x HDMI ports, an earphone jack, 1x AV input, and 1x Ethernet port.
As far as the software is concerned, the VU 98 Masterpiece runs on Google TV, supports AI-enabled 4K upscaling, and has dedicated gaming and HDR modes. The TV has 3GB RAM and is fuelled by a quad-core SoC. VU hasn’t shared any details on the chipset type and manufacturer, and we think a premium Smart TV should come with at least 4GB or 6GB RAM for a smoother multitasking experience. VU is shipping the Smart TV with both table mount and wall mount bracket in the box.
Considering the price point, there were expectations of an 8K resolution OLED screen for the Smart TV. However, VU has opted for a 4K Ultra HD Quantum dot panel, which falls slightly short in comparison to OLED when it comes to aspects like contrast, color vibrancy, perfect black formation, and power consumption. Nevertheless, the 4K QLED panel’s sheer size, coupled with its high peak brightness of 1000 nits and support for Dolby Vision and HDR10+ should deliver a cinematic viewing experience right from the comfort of your living room.
