OnePlus is the only major smartphone brand that does not have a market-ready foldable smartphone; however, this is set to change in the coming months. The OnePlus V Fold, the company’s first foldable smartphone, is expected to be released in August with some impressive hardware and sought-after features.

Renowned leakster @OnLeaks has recently shared some key specifications, giving us a glimpse into what to expect from the company’s first foldable device. Let’s dive straight into the leaked details:

OnePlus Fold Smartphone Expected Specifications

The OnePlus V Fold is said to sport a 7.8-inch LTPO AMOLED internal display, offering a refresh rate of 120Hz and a resolution of 1,900 x 2,100 pixels. Additionally, the device will feature a sizable 6.3-inch AMOLED cover screen with a matching 120Hz refresh rate. These display specifications appear promising and are expected to deliver a captivating visual experience. The renders by Onleaks and Smartprix give a good glimpse into the design and display aesthetics of the foldable.

Under the hood, the OnePlus Fold is likely to employ the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, the flagship chipset of 2023. Accompanied by 16GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, this octa-core CPU will provide smooth performance and ample space for multitasking. OnePlus is also expected to offer a 512GB variant for users requiring even more storage. Powering the device will be a 4,800mAh battery cell, complemented by a 67W fast-charging setup.

In terms of camera capabilities, the OnePlus Fold is rumored to feature a five-lens camera system. On the rear, there will be a 48MP Sony IMX890 sensor, an additional 48MP sensor for ultrawide shots, and a possible 64MP telephoto camera. As for selfies and video calls, the internal display will house a 32MP + 20MP dual-camera setup. We can’t confirm the OnePlus-Hasselblad partnership for the foldable yet.

Similar to the latest OnePlus 11-series handsets, the OnePlus Fold is expected to run on Oxygen OS 13.1 based on Android 13. It remains to be seen whether OnePlus will retain its iconic alert slider on this foldable device, adding a touch of familiarity and convenience for users.

The OnePlus Fold is set to challenge the existing foldable offerings in the market, including those from Samsung, Oppo, and Google. Samsung has established itself as the frontrunner in the foldable space, making it particularly intriguing to observe how OnePlus will measure up against the renowned Galaxy Z Fold series. OnePlus has the potential to shake up the competition by introducing stylus functionality, a feature currently exclusive to Samsung’s flagship foldable devices. This move could potentially disrupt the status quo and provide buyers with more choices in the foldable market.

We expect OnePlus to unveil its first Foldable smartphone at a premium price; however, it would still be lesser than the price of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4.
