Samsung has officially announced the launch date of its upcoming mid-range smartphone, the Galaxy M34 5G. Scheduled to make its debut on July 7, the smartphone poses a potential challenge to the upcoming OnePlus Nord CE3 5G, which is also set to launch in the same week (July 5) and could have a similar price range. Both smartphones are expected to be priced at around Rs. 20,000. Let’s take a closer look at the key specifications and features of the Galaxy M34 5G.
Samsung Galaxy M34 5G Specifications and Features
The Samsung Galaxy M34 5G will flaunt a sizable 6.5-inch 120Hz Super AMOLED display, featuring Vision Booster technology. The AI-enabled technology aims to enhance visuals on the screen while watching videos and playing games. From a design perspective, the Galaxy M34 5G seems to be a bit dated. The renders suggest that the display is surrounded by chunkier bezels and houses a dewdrop front camera module, which gives the device’s front fascia a bit outdated appearance. Samsung could have offered a punch-hole selfie camera.
The Galaxy M34 5G will be powered by a bigger 6,000mAh battery cell and leverage the capabilities of its underlying System-on-Chip (SoC) and machine learning to provide users with a range of intriguing camera features. The handset will come equipped with a 50-megapixel rear camera, complete with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS). It will feature Monster Shot 2.0 mode, which harnesses the AI Engines behind the camera to capture up to four videos and four photos simultaneously in a single shot, enabling them to freeze moments from different angles with ease.
The popular Nightography feature, previously exclusive to Samsung’s flagship series, is making its way to the Galaxy M34 5G. The feature should help enhance low-light photography performance in challenging lighting conditions. Additionally, the handset will also feature Sport Fun Mode, which integrates 16 different inbuilt lens effects to add a touch of creativity and fun to videos and photos, enabling users to experiment with various visual effects.
The Samsung Galaxy M34 5G will be available for purchase on multiple platforms, including Amazon.in, Samsung India’s online store, and various offline retail outlets. With an expected price tag below Rs. 20,000, the Galaxy M34 5G could be a good alternative to sub-20K handsets from Redmi, Realme, Oppo, and Vivo. It remains to be seen how the handset will stack up against the upcoming OnePlus Nord-series devices in terms of day-to-day performance.
