BGMI’s Second Innings in India; New Maps, Feature Updates, and Daily Time Limit

In a highly anticipated comeback, Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) has finally relaunched in India, bringing back the thrill of battle royale gaming to iOS and Android users. The game’s developer, Krafton, has taken significant measures to ensure a safe and controlled gaming experience for players.

One of the key changes introduced in the relaunched BGMI is the imposition of daily time limits. Krafton has implemented restrictions to prevent excessive gameplay. Minors will be able to play for a maximum of three hours each day under the new restrictions, while players over the age of 18 will be allowed to play for up to six hours. Additionally, players who are under the age of 18 will be required to provide their parent’s or guardian’s mobile number during the initial login process. Furthermore, the game includes daily spending limits to promote responsible gaming and ensure players exercise caution when making in-game purchases.

The relaunch is accompanied by new enhancements and additions that promise to improve the gameplay experience. Players can now explore Nusa, a brand-new map inspired by a tropical resort island, as part of the BGMI 2.5 update. The game’s smallest area, set in a tropical paradise, has zip lines, a Super Recall feature, a tactical crossbow, and a two-seater off-road all-terrain vehicle. Nusa matches are supposed to be fast-paced, lasting eight intense minutes. Furthermore, classic maps have been updated, providing a new twist for veteran gamers.

The relaunch has been strategically planned to ensure a smooth transition for players. Both iOS and Android users can download BGMI through the App Store and Play Store, respectively. However, Krafton has implemented a phased login system, granting access to users within 48 hours. This measured approach aims to provide a seamless gaming experience while managing server loads.

BGMI’s journey to relaunch hasn’t been without its challenges. Previously, the game faced a temporary removal from both the Google Play Store and Apple’s App Store due to concerns over data security. However, after addressing these issues and complying with the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), BGMI has been granted a three-month “trial approval.”

Over the following three months, the government will monitor game-related data security and time-limit concerns. If everything goes as planned, BGMI may have a future in India.
