Pizza Hut is the first QSR brand to employ AI to understand its customers’ moods and assist them choose what they crave. Select eateries in Delhi, Lucknow, Hyderabad, Bangalore, and Chennai will get the AI-enabled mood-detector system installed. Simply step in front of the device, look at the screen, and leave it on the detector to calibrate your mood and display its pizza recommendation. The AI-enabled device recommends pizzas in both vegetarian and non-vegetarian varieties from Pizza Hut’s new flavor lineup.
According to Pizza Hut, the technology detects facial expressions by analyzing landmarks on the face caught by the camera, such as eye movements, grins, and frowns. The model compares these patterns to hundreds of thousands of publicly available photos in a database.
