Logitech has an indispensable role in gaming which we little recognise

Logitech’s legacy in IT peripherals is hidden from none.  There will be rarely any tech user who wouldn’t be introduced to Logitech peripherals like keyboard, mouse, webcam, etc.  In some products among these, it is the default name and choice of millions of customers. 

But little do we realise Logitech’s indispensable role in elating the gaming experience.  This includes their special purpose keyboards, mice, headsets, and other such peripherals for gaming that are important agents of immersive experience for gamers.  There is also special purpose gaming hardware like gaming controllers, steering wheels and pedals which add significantly to the gamer’s joy and create an engaging environment.  A gamer feels not only connected but part of the game being played.

The Logitech G hub, where it nurtures the gaming community and introduces advanced solutions that further elate the gaming experience is making new products to further increase the immersive experience.  For example, the gaming chair is has co-produced with Herman Miller.  Similarly, there is Ratio Gaming Desk as well as Ollin Monitor Arm among other gaming peripheral accessories that Logitech has co-developed for the gaming community.

Logitech has been an agile company since inception.  It is a quick turnaround company that introduced interesting, smart and aesthetically appealing devices for users across different segments.  A lot of innovations, for instance, to the boring mouse have come from Logitech where it has focused on improving ergonomics, increasing efficiency as well as adding some unique features like the silent touch feature in M240 mouse.   During the covid-19 pandemic outbreak, Logitech introduced a lot of remote working equipment and peripherals solving the rising need of good and productive remote working solutions.

Logitech is among very few companies present across the spectrum of technology products, whether consumer or enterprise, which have been proactively foraying into augmented and potential product levels as defined by the famous marketing guru Philip Kotler in his 5 product levels framework that helps in exceeding customer expectations.

In gaming Logitech has exactly followed Kotler’s 5 product level framework, where we can identify products like steering and pedals for gaming as augmented products and the chair and desk for gaming as a potential product. By this approach, Logitech will not only stay relevant and ahead of times, but also remain young and connected with the young audiences.  There is no denying that gaming is a key use case for generation Z and Logitech has already made a connect with them through these experience enhancing products specifically made for gamers.  This is how a company can stay relevant and keep growing for generations.  There is definitely a lot for others to emulate from Logitech in the consumer tech space.
